It won the show dahlia oft he year in America one year by winning the Stanley Johnson medal, one of only a few ever won by an Australian cultivar. I was lucky enough to see this medal around in 2020 when I paid a visit to Joyce Davison, Gar’s widow in East Gippsland Victoria.
